Making Families Count has a Families Panel, of people who have been traumatically bereaved or seriously harmed as a result of the care of a relative and/or subsequent contact with mental healthcare services
The role of the panel is to:
- Share insights into current and recent experiences of NHS care
- Discuss ways MFC could respond effectively to such experiences
- Meet with policy makers, NHS leaders and MFC Directors from time to time to discuss priorities for MFC’s work
Family Panel members are eligible to join our invitation-only Making Connections monthly online meetings, and to attend occasional free training for families. The panel will meet four times a year, for two hours in the evening. Panel members will also be invited to comment on ideas, documents and possible projects in between meetings. People can join the panel at any time.
The panel will be chaired by the Chief Executive of Making Families Count.
To apply to join the panel please complete the families panel form. All applications will be acknowledged, and an informal discussion arranged with the Family Engagement Consultant to agree how you would like to contribute.

Making Families Count operates a safe recruitment approach to recruit paid and voluntary roles. As a member of the Families Panel you will not be asked to meet other families without a member of our team who has been DBS checked and trained in Safeguarding.
