Julie Kerry – Director and Founding Member

Julie Kerry

Julie is a Nurse Leader with a wide range of experience of operational and strategic delivery within the NHS, Social Care, and the Independent Sector. Her core principles and values are underpinned by her professional nursing background.

She has a comprehensive, system-wide view of all aspects of health and social care delivery. Her roles within the Strategic Health Authority, NHS England and as Chief Nurse within the NHS/Independent and Social Care providers have given her a position from which to develop a comprehensive understanding of the changing health and social care landscape, allied to an appreciation of the demands and imperatives faced by providers and commissioners, in delivering high-quality safe care.

Central to improving quality and safety in healthcare involves full collaboration and involvement of patients, families and staff. This vision helped Julie create Making Families Count – which she set up with families in 2016 – working to raise the importance of involving families in patient safety improvement.  She remains a Director of Making Families Count.

She is currently working as a Healthcare trainer, and as a Director of a new enterprise looking to develop alternative Mental Health Pathways.
